Consideration was given to a schedule of applications for consent to develop (for copy see file of Minutes).

 

Application No 1 - Erection of 2 No. Light Industrial Units with Ancillary Offices - Land at Long Tens Way, Newton Aycliffe, Easter Properties - 4, Grosvenor Place, London - Plan Ref : 7/2008/0327/DM

It was explained that the current application site formed the central section of the larger development previously approved in June 2007.  It was proposed to amend the layout of this section of the site so that two units were constructed rather than three units as formerly approved.

 

Access to the development was proposed via an existing access point off Long Tens Way.  A total of 64 car parking spaces, 20 loading bays for heavy goods vehicles and 12 cycle spaces would be provided on site.

 

A Design and Access Statement had been submitted in support of the application together with supporting information including an Economic Statement and an extended Phase 1 survey update.

 

RESOLVED :                  That the application be granted subject to the conditions detailed in the schedule.

To consider the attached schedule detailing an application which is to be determined by Durham County Council.  The view and observations of this Council have been requested.

NB :          In accordance with Section 81 of the Local Government Act 2000 and the Member’s Code of Conduct Councillors P. Gittins and T.F. Forrest declared an interest in the above item and left the meeting for the duration of the discussion and voting thereon.

 

Consideration was given to a schedule of applications which were to be considered by Durham County Council upon which the Council had been invited to comment.  (For copy see file of Minutes).

 

RESOLVED :            That the report be received and the recommendations contained therein adopted.

RECENT PLANNING APPEAL DECISIONS pdf icon PDF 11 M

Report of Director of Neighbourhood Services.

Minutes:

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Neighbourhood Services in respect of recent planning appeal decisions.  (For copy see file of Minutes).

 

Members noted that the appeal against the refusal of planning permission for the change of use of land for the siting of 330 static caravans and 48 lodges at land west of Hardwick Park and north of the A689 Sedgefield had been dismissed.

 

The appeal against planning decision to refuse consent to change the use of an existing bakehouse structure to rear of Attwood Terrace to form 1 No. 2 bedroom dwelling had been upheld.

 

RESOLVED :            That the information be received.

RESOLVED:             That in accordance with Section 100(a)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves  the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 12a of the Act.
