Communities Scrutiny Sub-Committee (DCC)
Monday 6 December 2004

Meeting: Communities Scrutiny Sub-Committee (County Hall, Durham - Committee Room 1a - 06/12/2004 10:00:00 AM)

                  Item: A9 Work Programme

Scrutiny Sub-Committee for Promoting Strong, Healthy and Safe Communities

6 December 2004

Work Programme
Report of Head of Overview and Scrutiny

Purpose of the Report

1. To update Members of the Sub-Committee about the work programme for the Sub-Committee.

Background
2. The Work Programme provides the opportunity to plan the work of the Sub-Committee. The programme, however, does change in response to new issues which arise. The Work Programme, therefore, provides a guide in terms of forward planning and project management. The timing of projects in the programme constantly needs to be adjusted.

Current position
3. There is a separate report on the agenda for this meeting about progress on the Fear of Crime project.
4. A further review of the Aids and Adaptations project has now been included in the work programme as requested by Members. Also included on the agenda for this meeting is a report about a recent County Durham Service Users and Carers Forum which was attended by Overview and Scrutiny members.
Recommendations
5. You are recommended to note the current Work Programme. Details of challenges in the Strategic Vision and identified by scrutiny members earlier in 2004 as areas for possible scrutiny investigation are attached for information.
