Meeting: County Council (County Hall, Durham - Council Chamber - 23/05/2008 10:00:00 AM)
Item: A12 Corporate Plan 2008-09
Report of John Richardson, Acting Chief Executive |
1 To seek Council approval for the Corporate Plan 2008-09.
Background
2 The Corporate Plan 2008-09 is a key document for the Council. It is a one year plan that sets out the Council’s priorities for improvement for the transitional year between two-tier and unitary status.
Framework
3 The plan is organised around five high level outcomes which mirror the themes of the County Durham Partnership and the new Local Area Agreement. A sixth high level outcome reflects corporate management priorities for the transitional year.
4 Specific contributory outcomes for improvement that will help the Council achieve its high level outcomes are included. Against each, the plan identifies key tasks, performance indicators, risk and financial implications.
5 The Corporate Plan will be a key focus of our internal performance management arrangements during 2008-09. Quarterly reports will set out performance against the plan’s key performance indicators and progress against key tasks.
