Purpose of Report 1. To explain a Scrutiny report carried out by the County Council’s Scrutiny Committee for Strong, Healthy and Safe Communities relating to Mental Health Provision for Young People.
Background 2. Prior to the formation of the Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee, the County Council’s Communities Scrutiny Sub-Committee decided to carry out a major investigation into mental health provision for 16-25 year olds and their carers.
3. A copy of the report produced by the working group is attached.
FOR THE ABOVE REPORT PLEASE REFER TO HARD COPIES HELD IN THE CORPORATE SERVICES DEPARTMENT OR THE COUNTY RECORD OFFICE 4. The report raises a number of important issues about the improvement of services for young people. The report has been widely circulated. It has been brought to the Sub-Committee so that Members who are not familiar with this report should have the opportunity to understand the issues which it raised.
5. A presentation about the report will be given at the Sub-Committee.
