Meeting: Lifelong Learning Scrutiny Sub-Committee (County Hall, Durham - Committee Room 2 - 26/06/2006 10:00:00 AM)
Item: A9 Work Programme
Scrutiny Sub-Committee for the Development of Lifelong Learning 26 JUNE 2006 Work Programme |
Report of Head of Overview and Scrutiny |
1 To explain the Sub-Committee’s work programme.
Background
2 Under the new Constitution, the Sub-Committee, following consultation with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the main Committee, sets its annual work programme.
3 The Work Programme provides the opportunity to plan the work for the Sub-Committee. This needs to be kept under review but provides a guide in terms of forward planning and project management.
4. Further consideration is to be given to the work programme for all the Scrutiny Sub-Committees at a session to be held on the 26 th June prior to this Sub-Committee meeting. The aim will be to choose one project for each Sub-Committee and also a reserve project.
5. The Scrutiny Co-ordinating Panel has suggested that the projects relating to school meals and modern foreign languages can, perhaps, now be drawn to a conclusion having substantially achieved their purpose.
Recommendation
6. You are recommended to note this information.
