Active Durham is the independent sports and physical activity partnership in County Durham. It previously operated under the auspices and management of Durham County Council.

In order to deliver vital new resources for sport and physical activity, the partnership remains independent and now operates under the auspices of County Durham Sport. The partnership architecture fits with the governance and accountability structures of County Durham Sport, County Durham Partnership and Health and Wellbeing Board. 

Transition has taken place throughout 2019 and as part of this process, agreement reached that the name and branding of Active Durham remained meaningful to partners and should be maintained.

In order for the logo and branding to be deployed effectively, the ownership of the logo, name and all associated branding should be transferred from Durham County Council to County Durham Sport.
