Minutes:
The Overview and Scrutiny Officer, Diane Close referred Members to the recent prominent articles and news stories relating to the remit of the Economy and Enterprise Overview and Scrutiny Committee (for copy see file of minutes). The articles included: Tenants vote yes to housing transfer; 300 new jobs are to be created by a pharmaceutical firm which has located to Peterlee; Tourism professionals within County Durham are to receive extra training in how to make visitors feel welcome and explain what is on offer within the County; the regions first University Technical College (UTC) is to be established at Aycliffe and will train up to 600 people a year focusing on engineering and manufacturing.
