The Cabinet considered a report of the Assistant Chief Executive which provided Cabinet with a progress report on the North East Combined Authority poll and outlined the decision making process for this Authority (for copy see file of minutes).

The Assistant Chief Executive advised that the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill had now received Royal Assent.

Cabinet members noted that the poll had now closed in Durham, and that the return of over 80,000 was the largest return from engagement in England on this issue.

Resolved:

That the recommendation contained in the report be approved.
