Minutes:
The Overview and Scrutiny Officer referred Members to the recent prominent articles and news stories relating to the remit of the Safer and Stronger Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee (for copy see file of minutes). The articles included: almost 200 people arrested for drink or drug driving over the Christmas period, with over 4,000 tests administered; 3 cars destroyed in arson attacks at Horden; and linking to the 20mph and Road Safety items on the agenda, a local Author and students at St. Leonard’s had worked to produce designs for road signage to encourage drivers to slow down.
