Minutes:
The Chairman welcomed the Licence Holder to the meeting and introductions were made.
Consideration was given to the report of the Licensing Team Leader
which requested the Sub-Committee to consider and determine the
ongoing suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be
licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy see file of
minutes).
The Licensing Team Leader presented the report and some additional information which had been circulated to Members prior to the meeting. The Licensing Enforcement Officer was invited to present their statement. The Licence Holder and Members were given the opportunity to ask questions.
A representative from Durham Constabulary addressed the Sub-Committee and responded to a number of questions from Members and Officers.
A witness was invited to give evidence and responded to a number the Sub-Committee and the Licence Holder.
The Licence Holder addressed the Sub-Committee and responded to questions from Members.
The Licence Holder was given the opportunity to sum-up before the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 11.35 a.m.
After reconvening at 11.50 a.m. the Chairman delivered the Sub-Committees decision.
Resolved
That no further action be taken as the Licence Holder was deemed to be a fit and proper person.
The Licensing Team Leader left the meeting at this point.
