Minutes:
The Mayor conveyed what an honour and privilege it was to be elected to the role of Mayor of Durham for the ensuing year which would be the pinnacle of over 35 years associated with councils at various levels.
He thanked his family, friends and those who had provided advice and support to be able to achieve the position of Mayor of Durham and would repay those who had faith in him with commitment and dedication.
The Mayors chosen charity during his term of office would be the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Without the service they provide, his daughter may not be here today.
