Agenda item

Applications to be determined

Minutes:

Prior to the consideration of the applications detailed on the agenda, the Solcitor for Planning and Development informed the Committee that between publication of the reports and the committee meeting, the Government had published a consultation document called “Planning for the Right Homes in the Right Places”. This document set out a methodology for calculating objectively assessed need. Against that methodology, the Council could demonstrate a supply of deliverable housing land in excess of 5 years. Therefore, the advice to Members was that the weight to be afforded to the benefits of any housing proposals in terms of the boost to housing supply would be reduced from the position outlined in the reports. However, the Solicitor confirmed that this would not alter any of the recommendations contained within the reports.
