Minutes:
The Chairman welcomed the Licence Holder and his Solicitor to the meeting and introductions took place.
The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Corporate Director of Adult Services to determine the ongoing suitability of a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy, see file of minutes).
The Licensing Team Leader presented the report and the Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the Licence Enforcement Team committee report. Members and Officers were given the opportunity to ask questions following both presentations as well as the Licence Holder and his Solicitor.
A representative from Durham Constabulary presented the Sub-Committee with a statement with respect to matters outlined in the report and responded to questions from the Solicitor. The Licence Holder and his Solicitor also asked a number of questions.
The Licence Holders Solicitor was invited to address the Sub-Committee and the Licence Holder responded to questions from the Solicitor and Members.
At 2.20 p.m. the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private and after reconvening at 2.35 p.m. the Chairman delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved:
That the Licence Holder be subject to a written warning to correspond and expire with the restrictions currently in place.
