Police and Crime Panel

Verbal Update by Jonathan Slee, Overview and Scrutiny Officer.

Minutes:

The Overview and Scrutiny Officer gave a verbal update report in respect of the Police and Crime Panel (PCP), noting issues considered at the meeting held on 14 March included: precept consultation; an update on the Police Crime and Victims’ Plan Outcome Two “Victims and the Vulnerable feel supported”; and the quarterly performance report; and a focused report on the Police, Crime and Victim’s Commissioner Plan Outcomes – Outcome 3 “Reoffending is reduced and rehabilitation is improved”.

 

The Overview and Scrutiny Officer noted that he would circulated the relevant links to Members.  The Chairman reminded Members that the Safer and Stronger Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee maintained close links and fed into the PCP as appropriate.

 

Chief Superintendent A Green noted that the Chief Constable, Mike Barton was retiring in June 2019.  The Chairman noted the Committee’s thanks to the Chief Constable, adding he had been very open and frank in his discussions with Members and supportive of the work of the Committee, as evidenced by the high-ranking Officers from Durham Constabulary that attended the meetings of the Committee.
