The Cabinet considered a joint report of the Director of Transformation and Partnerships and Corporate Director of Regeneration and Local Services which sought approval for the former Sherburn Hill School and Sure Start Centre site to be asset transferred on the basis of a long-term full repair, maintenance and insurance (FRMI) lease to Sherburn Hill Hub, for use as a community centre.  Approval was also sought for a delegated decision on ring fenced funding to support the development of a community building in Sherburn Hill (for copy see file of minutes).

Councillor D Hall, a local member advised of the community’s support for the proposal, and thanked officers and members for working with them on this project. Cabinet members commented on the drive and enthusiasm the community had for this project and how this would be an excellent opportunity going forward.

That the recommendations contained in the report be approved.
