Minutes:
The Chair welcomed the Licence Holder to the meeting and introductions were made.
The Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Regeneration and Local Services to determine the suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).
The Licensing Enforcement Officer was in attendance to outline the report and provided Members with a copy of the previous committee referral report. Members and the Licence Holder were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Officer.
Durham Constabulary were in attendance and provided information with regards to matters outlined in the report. Members and the Licence Holder were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Officer.
The Licence Holder was invited to address the Sub-Committee and Members and Officers were given the opportunity to ask questions.
The Sub-Committee adjourned at 12.05 pm to allow Members to find information in the papers. The Sub-Committee re-convened at 12.10 pm and the Chairman advised the Licence Holder that the information had been found in the papers.
After Summing up, the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 12.15 pm. After re-convening at 12.35 pm, the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved: That the Licence Holder’s Hackney Carriage Driver Licence be revoked.
