Minutes:
Members were informed that the Licence Holder was not in attendance. Attempts to contact the Licence Holder had been unsuccessful. The Licence Holder had not responded to letters or telephone calls regarding the hearing. In view of this the Sub-Committee agreed to proceed in the Licence Holder’s absence.
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Regeneration and Local Services regarding the ongoing suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy see file of minutes).
The Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the report, and responded to questions.
Durham Constabulary had confirmed that there was no relevant information on their records and no pending convictions.
The Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 11.20am. After re-convening at 11.30am, the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved:
That the Hackney Carriage Driver Licence be revoked.
