Minutes:
Moved by Councillor Shuttleworth, Seconded by Councillor Reed that Councillor P Brookes be appointed Chair of Corporate Parenting Panel.
The Head of Legal and Democratic Services advised Council that this could not be a valid nomination because Councillor Brookes was not a member of any Political Group and as such was not entitled to a seat on the Corporate Parenting Panel. Councillor Hopgood informed the Council that the Liberal Democrat Group would be willing to cede one of their seats on the Corporate Parenting Panel to Councillor Brookes.
Councillor Wilkes moved that the appointment be deferred until a seat could be ceded to Councillor Brookes so that he had a seat on the Panel. Seconded by Councillor Temple.
Upon a vote being taken the motion was lost.
Moved by Councillor L Marshall, Seconded by Councillor J Robinson that Councillor I Jewell be appointed Chair of the Corporate Parenting Panel.
