Minutes:
The Chair welcomed the Licence Holder and his character witnesses to the meeting and introductions were made.
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change that asked Members to consider the ongoing suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy of report, see file of Minutes).
Members were informed that the complainant had advised that she was unable to attend.
The Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the report and Members and the Licence Holder were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Officer.
The Police were not in attendance and the Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the information provided following Police checks.
The Licence Holder was invited to address the Sub-Committee. The Licence Holder then responded to questions from Members and Officers.
The Chair lost connection and left the meeting during the Licence Holder’s presentation and Councillor A Batey took the Chair.
Members then heard from the two character witnesses.
The Licence Holder was advised that the Sub-Committee would retire to deliberate the application in private and the Licence Holder would be notified of their decision later today.
The Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 2.40pm.
Resolved: That the Licence Holder be issued with a written warning for a twelve-month period.
