Minutes:
The Senior Committee Services Officer advised Members that the Licence Holder had indicated that he would not be attending the meeting but was happy for Members to consider in his absence.
Members discussed whether they should proceed in the absence of the Licence Holder and agreed to proceed with the hearing.
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change that asked Members to consider the ongoing suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).
The Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the report and Members were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Officer.
A representative from Durham Constabulary was in attendance and provided Members with information held on their systems. Members and Officers were given the opportunity to ask question of the Officer.
The Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 10.05 am.
Resolved: That the Licence Holder’s Hackney Carriage Drivers Licence be revoked with immediate effect.
