Minutes:
The Chair informed Council that his chosen charity to support during his term of office would be Willow Burn Hospice at Lanchester. The staff and volunteers at the Hospice did an amazing job, providing care, comfort and compassion at the end of life, supporting not only patients but also their families and friends at a time when they need it most.
The Chair asked that staff and Members consider enrolling on the Pennies from Heaven scheme which allowed staff and Members to donate to the charity via payroll deductions. Monthly salaries were rounded down to the nearest pound with the pennies donated to the Willow Burn Hospice.
Further details about the scheme would be emailed from the Civic Office following the meeting.
