Minutes:
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting and introductions were made.
The Licence Holder was not in attendance at the meeting.
Members asked for clarification as to the steps taken to ensure the Licence Holder was aware of the hearing. After receiving confirmation that reasonable steps had been taken to contact the Licence Holder, Members discussed whether they should proceed in the absence of the Licence Holder and agreed to proceed in his absence.
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Regeneration and Local Services that asked Members to consider the ongoing suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).
The Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the report and Members were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Officer.
After Summing up, the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 11.10 am. After re-convening at 11.25 am, the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved: That the Licence Holder’s Hackney Carriage Driver Licence be revoked with immediate effect
