Consideration of the Ongoing Suitability of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver

Minutes:

The Chair welcomed the Licence Holder and his representative to the meeting and introductions were made.

 

The Council’s Solicitor explained the procedure.

 

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change to determine the ongoing suitability of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).

 

In presenting the report, the Licensing Enforcement Officer corrected an inaccuracy at paragraph 2, the correct date being 8 October 2021 and corrected the Licence Holder’s name which was stated incorrectly at paragraph 24. The parties asked the Licensing Enforcement Officer questions. 

 

The Licence Holder’s representative then addressed the Sub-Committee and responded to questions from the parties.

 

After all parties were given the opportunity to make a closing statement, the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application, in private, at 10.20 am.  After re-convening at 10.30 am, the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.

 

Resolved:

 

That the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence be suspended for a period of 4 weeks.
