The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change to determine the ongoing suitability of a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).
The Licensing Enforcement Officer informed the Sub-Committee that the Licence Holder had advised that he was not attending the meeting and wished to surrender his Hackney Carriage Driver Licence. The content of the e-mail received from the Licence Holder was read out for the benefit of the Sub-Committee.
The Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the report and referred to the statement from the Police at Appendix 2, which Members noted. Members were given the opportunity to ask questions.
The Legal Officer referred Members to the relevant section of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy at Appendix 3.
At 2.15pm the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the matter in private. After re-convening at 2.20pm, the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
That the Hackney Carriage Driver Licence be revoked with immediate effect.
