Minutes:
The Chair welcomed the Licence Holder who was accompanied to the meeting by his solicitor and introductions were made.
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change to determine the suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver.
The Licensing Enforcement Officer was in attendance to present the report. All parties were invited to ask questions of the Licensing Enforcement Officer.
The Licensing Enforcement Officer then introduced the complainant to the Sub-Committee who was invited to make representations. The complaint then left the meeting and took no further part in the hearing.
At this point the Sub-Committee adjourned at 1.56 pm to seek clarification from the Legal Officer before re-convening at 2.15 pm
The Licence Holder’s Solicitor addressed the Committee. The Licence Holder was then responded to questions from Members and Officers.
After summing up, the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application in private at 2.35 pm. After re-convening at 2.50 pm the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved: That the Licence Holder’s Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence be suspended until the completion of Disability Awareness Course.
