National Association of Police, Fire and Crime Panels Annual Report 2022

Minutes:

The Panel considered report of the Head of Legal and Democratic Services which set out, for information, the annual report of the National Association of Police, Fire and Crime Panels (NAPFCP) (for copy see file of Minutes).

 

The Head of Legal and Democratic Services explained that there was reference within the Annual Report as regards Home Office training for Police and Crime Panel Members, adding that an associated video had been shared with Panel. 

She added there was also information in respect of two key lines of inquiry in relation to vetting of Officers, following the abduction and murder of Sarah Everard:

 

·        What Police recruitment and vetting process are in place?

·        Are acceptable policing behaviour policies in place and how is this monitored?

 

Resolved:

 

(i)   That the report and presentation be noted.

(ii)  That a response to the two key lines of inquiry from the Police and Crime Commissioner is reported at the next meeting of the Panel.
