Minutes:
The Chair welcomed the Licence Holder to the meeting and introductions were made.
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change regarding the ongoing suitability of the Licence Holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage Driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).
The Licensing Enforcement Officer outlined the report and he also drew the Sub-Committee’s attention to the additional information circulated which confirmed that there were two speeding matters against the Licence Holder and the Licence Holder attended a speed awareness course in 2021 which he omitted in his interview with the Licensing Enforcement Officer. CCTV footage of the incident was shown to the Sub-Committee. The Licensing Enforcement Officer then answered questions from the parties.
PC A Newcombe provided background information on the incident and details of a further local crime recording. He then answered questions from the parties.
The Licence Holder then addressed the Sub-Committee and answered questions from the parties
After summing up, the Sub-Committee retired to deliberate in private at approximately 2.15pm. On re-convening at approximately 3.20pm, the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved:
That the Licence Holder’s Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence be suspended with immediate effect, pending completion of an anger management course.
