Minutes:
The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change regarding the ongoing suitability of a licence holder to continue to be licensed as a Hackney Carriage driver (for copy of report, see file of minutes).
N Anderson, Senior Licensing Enforcement Officer, outlined the report and corrected a typographical error at paragraph 15, clarifying that the correct date was 24 June 2023. The Senior Licensing Enforcement Officer then answered questions from the Sub-Committee.
PC A Newcombe of Durham Constabulary was in attendance and provided information relating to the incident of June 2023 and details of crime system and PNC records.
The Sub-Committee (Councillors D Brown, L Brown and R Potts) then retired to deliberate the matter in private at approximately 1.50 pm and at approximately 2.05 pm the Chair delivered the Sub-Committee’s decision.
Resolved:
That the licence holder’s Hackney Carriage driver’s licence be revoked with immediate effect.
