Consideration of an Application to be licensed as a Private Hire Driver

Minutes:

The Chair welcomed the Applicant to the meeting. Introductions were made and the meeting procedure was outlined.

 

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Climate Change to consider an application to be licensed as a private hire driver which was presented by the Senior Licensing Enforcement Officer (for copy of report, see file of minutes).  No questions were raised in respect of the report.

 

PC A Newcombe confirmed that no records were held in respect of the Applicant on police crime recording systems.

 

The Applicant made submissions to the Sub-Committee and answered questions.  Following which, the Chair invited the parties to make their closing statements.

 

The Sub-Committee retired to deliberate the application, in private, at  approximately 2.00pm.  On reconvening at approximately 2.10pm, the Chair delivered the decision of the Sub-Committee.

 

Resolved:

 

That the application to be licensed as a private hire driver be granted, with a written warning for a period of six months.
