The Cabinet considered a joint report of the Chief Executive and the Corporate Director of Regeneration, Economy and Growth which sought approval from Cabinet, as Trustee, to pass a resolution to amend the Scheme (for copy see file of minutes).

Councillor M Wilkes, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods and Climate Change moved the recommendations in the report and thanked officers for the enormous amount of work carried out. The Community facility at Brandon was an extremely important and valuable asset to the local community. Agreement of the amendments set out in the report would allow the trustees of the facility to apply for grants to improve the building.
The Leader of the Council seconded the recommendation in the report and highlighted the importance of such a facility being run by those who operate at the very heart of the community. The Trustees were dedicated and committed to improving the facility. The amendment to the charitable scheme would allow them to continue work their good work and in doing so, give them the opportunity to develop the building in the best interests for the community.

That the recommendations in the report be approved.
