Minutes:
The Strategic Traffic Manager provided a detailed presentation which included a site location plan, aerial photographs, photographs of the site at the junction of the B6298 Billy Row Green, Crook and details of the proposal to introduce (Parking and Waiting Restrictions) Traffic Regulation Amendment Order 2024. The application which had been proposed following concerns raised by the Police and local residents due to reduced visibility when entering and leaving the junction caused by parking obstructions.
Councillor R Manchester addressed the Committee as Local Member. He spoke in support of the application that had been brought to his attention by residents and a former Police Community Support Officer following none-injury accidents. The parking violations had occurred at school drop off times and by customers who were visiting local business parking on the junction.
The Chair requested that Councillor R Manchester left the chamber during the debate.
There were no further comments from Members or Officers. Councillor D Wood Moved that the recommendation be agreed. This was Seconded by Councillor K Robson.
Upon a vote being taken the Committee unanimously:
Resolved: That the Committee endorsed the proposal, in principle, to introduce the Crook (Parking and Waiting Restrictions) Traffic Regulation Page 5 Amendment Order 2024, with the final decision to be made by the Corporate Director under delegated powers.
Councillor R Manchester re-entered the chamber following the vote.
