Minutes:
The Chairman introduced and congratulated the newly elected Police and Crime Commissioner, Ron Hogg.
The Police and Crime Commissioner gave a presentation highlighting his priorities and key issues:
· Engage with the community to build trust and confidence
· Develop an interactive website and social media network
· Create a team to address domestic abuse, hate crime and anti-social behaviour
· Appoint a Chief Constable by the end of January 2013
· Precept
· Working closely with key partnership agencies and voluntary sector
· Memorandum of understanding with Police and Crime Panels.
The Commissioner responded to questions from members of the Panel which provided clarification on his role, staffing establishment, consultation with the public and the role and appointment of an Audit Committee.
