To be awarded a DHP (Discretionary Housing Payment) you have to reach certain criteria. One is to prove hardship you then have to submit evidence of your income,outgoings and letters from your G.P etc If there are no suitable properties to move to you should not be charged the bedroom tax and you should not have to apply for a DHP.
