People living in Haswell Plough currently have no means of
accessing the facilities in Shotton such as the local primary
schools, pubic house and shops without using a car of public
transport. There is no public footpath so residents have to walk on
the main road. This includes children, adults with prams/pushchairs
(to get to and from school)and people with physical disabilities
travelling in electric vehicles. This is extremely unsafe and
dangerous.
In addition, as it is dangerous to walk on the road many residents
are forced to use their own vehicles, which is not in line with the
Council’s Sustainable Communities Strategy.
