Admissions Forum

Description

Admission forums play an important role in making sure school admission systems are fair.

The local authority is required by the government to establish an admission forum.

Admission forums are there to ensure that school admissions systems do not put any child at a disadvantage over another child, and that the system is straightforward and easy for parents to understand.

The forum is made up of those organisations which are responsible for school admissions in a local area as well as a parent representative.

The forum meets to discuss admission arrangements, and to make recommendations to the relevant decision making organisation.
