From the 1 April 2011, North Eastern Sea Fisheries Committee (NESFC) will be replaced by a new organisation, North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NEIFCA), with wholly new duties and responsibilities for managing and conserving marine resources between the River Tyne and North East Lincolnshire.  NEIFCA has adopted the following national vision:-

To lead, champion and manage a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries, by successfully securing the right balance between social, environmental and economic benefits to ensure healthy seas, sustainable fisheries and a viable industry.
